I want to thank Billie Jo Kelby for coming to speak in the English classes on Monday. She enjoyed sharing a few stories from her childhood. What did you think about her visit? What was the most interesting thing she shared with the class? What was the purpose of her visit?
I LOVED Billie's visit!!!I especially thought it was great whe she told aout her mother being a story teller!I think that The most interesting thing she talked about was definitly about how She and her father workede in the feilds during dust storms.I beliave that the purpose of her visit was to introduce the student(like me) to her book "Out Of The Dust".
ReplyDeleteIt was very fun having Billie Jo Kelby in our classroom on Monday. The most interesting thing she shared was the story that her Ma told her Pa when he had a bad day. The purpose of her visit was that we are studying the Dust Bowl in Oklahoma in class now. She shared stories and introduced the topic that we are going to be studying in class.

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed Billie Jo Kelby's visit because it was entertaining. The most interesting thing she shared with the class was the story her Ma told her Daddy to make him laugh. I liked the story because you can see what people in the 1930s did for entertainment and also be able to hear one of Billie Jo's Ma's story because she said that her Ma was a great story teller. I think the purpose of her visit was to visually get an idea what a fourteen year old girl in the 1930s looked like and what type of lifestyle she had.
The visit was very unexpected. Different, but of course all the while exciting. I thought it was very enjoyable to listen to her story. I'm going to have to say that the most interesting thing she had shared with us was that she had a fling for playing the piano. only because that was like the only way for her to escape everything going on around her. The pupose of her visit I believe was because she wanted us to know and understand how difficult it was back then, and how much easier it is now. Therefore we should be gratful we didn't have to live through the hardships she faced. The visit has definitely given me a better understanding of how people lived through the dust bowl.
ReplyDeletejustice spybuck- I liked her visit.. I liked the joke about the horse in the bath tub.. I think the purpos of her visit was to show kinda how it was back then
ReplyDeleteI think her visit was good and the most interesting thing that i thought was how her and her family fought through the dust and the purpose was to tell what happened around her time.
ReplyDeleteWhat I thought about her visit was it was very informative and it really took and felt like you were in the 1930's during the dust bowl.the most interesting thing she shared was the funny story that her mother told her and the song she sung.her purpose was to inform and tell everything that happened during the time or era of her presence.- justin nguyen
ReplyDeleteI thought that the visit was very funny, she looked remarkably like Mrs. Crawford! Probably the part about her living during the Great Depression. To tell us about her life and how they lived during the Great Depression, also to introduce us to the book about her and her families life.
ReplyDeleteHi Mrs.Crawford,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed having Billie Jo Kelby as a guest speaker. My favorite part was the story she told about wanting to buy a dead horse. I told this story to my sister and dad and they laughed hard.I think the purpose of her coming was to set the story and to give an impression on how living through the dust bowl really was.
Thanks,
Jasmine Reed
Meeting Billie Jo was very interesting and entertaining. I loved when she told the story that her mom told her dad to cheer him up. It was halarious! It was also interesting to find out she lived during the dust bowl. I guess that is why she came, to tell us the good and hard times in her life during the dust bowl. I was very pleased that Bille Jo came to visit our class. Sincerely, Jordan R.
ReplyDeleteMeeting Billie Jo was interesting but very unexpecting. I like the part where Billie Jo told use the story about the dead horse. I think the reason she came to our class was to share to us what it was like back then during the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression. To tell us a little bit about her life.
ReplyDeleteI liked when Billie Jo visited. She has such an optimistic and brave personality! I wish she'd come visit again. It was sad to hear about her mother and brother's death. I could feel Billie Jo's despair. How awful she must've felt. If I'd have been there, I would mourn with her, to share her pain and sorrow. But Billie Jo was strong enough to hold her head high. And that's what I like about her.
